A new scale
So we're dieting. Whee! We got a new scale last night-a digital one. The old one was of questionable quality...you weighed different amounts in different places around the bathroom. We weren't sure if that was due to a crappy scale or a possessed house, so we just got a new one (scale, that is). There was a VERY funny moment last night after I opened it up and and got it working...the cats came over to investigate (in cat-owner speak that means they had to approve the presence of something new in their house), and Calli was perched up on top of it like a fat little queen. We figured we'd see how much she weighed, so TJ turned it on, but with her sitting on it already, it merely calibrated to her weight as 0. Ineffective, to say the least. He picked her up, turned it on, and set her down on it, where she stayed put for less than 2 seconds. POOF, she was gone. Unfortunately for Brutus, he happened to walk by a second later, and TJ scoops him up to weigh him. He's holding him and petting him while he turns the scale back on, and then when it's ready, he lowers Bru down to the scale. Bru promptly spreads all four feet out in opposite directions, neatly managing to avoid touching the scale. heh... TJ lifts him up a little, and his feet pull back in together...he lowers him, and they spread out, with only ONE foot touching the scale this time. That was the point that I left. Very funny, and very typical of my cats...and husband, actually.
While I'm talking about Brutus...Arlo and Janis yesterday was JUST like Bru. Here's a link. Sure, he could jump up, but why? He prefers to wait for the human elevator. Makes you wonder who's training who...
